“Looks like someone’s got a secret admirer.”

“I’ve never--I don’t know what to do. Someone really likes me, you know, in more than a sister-y kind of way.” Shock and curiosity danced in the depths of Willow’s eyes as she smiled. Her glance darted around everyone as they walked down the hall that they occupied. She was trying to figure out who it was, to catch a glimpse of the one who made her feel so special.

Jesse smirked, appreciating the way her smile seemed to light up the room. He wondered what she would do if she realized it was him. That one of her best friends was the one leaving a long stem rose with a note telling her just how beautiful she was for the second time this week. His nerves worked a knot in his stomach at what her reaction might be.

He wasn’t ready to let her know. Not yet. But he would be soon enough and until that day came, he was more than happy to stand back and relish in the way she would bring the soft petals of the flower to her nose gently, taking in the sweet scent. How the red pigment contrasted against her soft skin and almost rivaled the blush that crept onto her cheeks when she would read each word scrawled on the letter he wrote.
